New York-New York

The Signature Experience: The Big Apple Coaster

The Big Apple Coaster is the only roller coaster on the Las Vegas Strip, and it races right through the resort building. Reaching speeds of 67 mph, the coaster features a 203-foot drop, a 180-degree heartline twist, and a barrel roll that sends riders plummeting and twisting around the resort's Manhattan skyline facade. At night, the coaster's trains are illuminated with LED lighting, creating streaks of color against the neon skyline.

The Big Apple Coaster was the first roller coaster in the world to feature a "heartline" twist, a design element that rotates riders around their center of gravity rather than the track's axis. This creates a sensation of floating rather than being thrown, an engineering innovation now standard on coasters worldwide.

Architecture and Design

The resort recreates the Manhattan skyline at approximately one-third scale. The Empire State Building, the Chrysler Building, the Statue of Liberty, Ellis Island, and twelve other New York landmarks are faithfully replicated in the facade. A 150-foot replica of the Brooklyn Bridge serves as the resort's entrance. Inside, the resort floor features a Central Park-themed area with trees and faux-sky ceilings.

Accommodations and Amenities

New York-New York features 2,024 guest rooms and suites, many with views of the Strip and the roller coaster. The Big Apple Arcade and Roller Coaster provides a family entertainment center alongside the thrill ride. The Park, an outdoor dining and entertainment district adjacent to the resort, offers a variety of restaurants and bars. Greenwich Village-inspired lounge areas with cobblestone walkways create a charming atmosphere, and the Nine Fine Irishmen pub features authentic Irish music and dancing nightly.
